In the week prior to the race Davy got the green light from his doctor to start riding again. Despite the fact that he didn’t ride for four weeks his riding went pretty well in practice and he set the third fastest time.

In the first moto he took a poor start and came out of the first lap in thirteenth position. Davy started a charge back through the field and tried to pass as many riders as possible. In lap 5 he had worked himself up into sixth position. He kept pushing and in the closing stages of the race he also managed to pass the Italian rider Joakin Furbetta for fifth position. The gap till fourth place rider Josiah Natzke was too big so Davy had to settle for fifth position.

Before the second moto he was two points behind Brian Hsu in the championship. Davy was motivated to do well in the second moto. Unfortunately he crashed in the first corner after the start and had to come back from last position. With fast lap times he charged through the pack and in the middle of the race he had worked himself up inside of the top ten. He kept pushing and came behind a group of four riders. He was looking for places to make a stick and with some nice passing manoeuvres he managed to pass all four riders to finish the race in sixth position.

Overall he finished in sixth position in Loket. With only the race in Lommel still to go he is twelve points behind Brian Hsu in the championship. The race in Lommel will be held this weekend.
